After a successful vertical slice, this week was a slow one due to submissions. We got a couple things done, but not too much.

Weekly Accomplishments


The following are the tasks that have been completed.

  • Inventory Networking

  • Weapon Recoil

  • Sound & VFX Data for Weapons


This week's progress has been limited due to various factors:

Weapon Recoil (WIP): Worked on implementing weapon recoil mechanics, though still a work in progress.

Inventory System (WIP): Devoted effort to advancing the inventory system, facing challenges in integration and networking.

Weapon Fall Off Values: Defined fall-off values for weapons to enhance gameplay mechanics.

Sound and VFX Events for Weapons: Added sound and visual effects events to weapons for improved player feedback.

While progress has been made, both the weapon systems and the inventory system remain works in progress.

Weekly Problems & Rating

Encountered challenges include:

Refactoring and Dual Weapon Systems: Faced difficulties in maintaining two weapon systems due to the new inventory system not being fully integrated, leading to additional workload and complexities.

Sleep Schedule Disruptions: Struggled with disruptions to team members' sleep schedules, impacting productivity and process adherence.

Despite efforts, productivity was hindered by external factors and challenges, leading to a lower rating.

Future Plans

Looking ahead to the next week, the focus will be on:

Completing the Inventory System: Dedicate time to finishing and integrating the inventory system, resolving networking issues to ensure functionality.

Advancing Production: Transition to production phase, despite feeling uncertain about achieving a vertical slice, to move forward from recent setbacks.
